Welcome to this year’s 365 photo today challenge. You can check out this link if you care to join. It is a great group!
Welcome to Picture COLOUR week, where we are looking at black & white photography.
June 6 – Quality: “The definition of quality is “the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something.” Or “a distinctive attribute or characteristic possessed by someone or something. Today, I strongly encourage you to use the second idea of focusing on a distinctive attribute or characteristic possessed by your subject.”

I love all the old barns in our area. Unfortunately, many of them are in poor condition. This one, however, is in good repair. I love all the textures and think that the old dead tree in front adds a unique quality to the photo.
June 7 – Roadside: “Show us what crazy, unique, or interesting things you find on the roadside as you go about your travels today.”

My view as I was heading into town; I love where I live!
June 8 – Plenty: “Find a subject today that represents plenty and convert it to B&W. It can have a lot of detail, represent a feeling of plenty, or any other way the word speaks to you.”

I found these beehives at the edge of a canola field in full bloom. There are plenty of flowers for the bees here, and they will produce plenty of honey. If you look closely, you can see plenty of bees in front of the hives as well.
June 9 – Paper: “See what you can do with shooting a black and white image in colour.”

We have two weekly newspapers here in ‘the county.’ They are delivered free along with the weekly sales at the local grocery stores
June 10 – Capable: “Capable – having the ability, fitness, or quality necessary to do or achieve a specified thing.”

I found this one of the ‘dreaded & difficult to photograph’ prompts. I was walking along the beach and saw this excellent rock tower. You never know what you are capable of until you try!
June 11 – Ink: “Show us ink! Pens, tattoos, books, typewriters……..”

I saw this tattoo parlour while driving on my way to do my shopping…perfect for today’s prompt. No tattoo for me though!
June 12 – Richness: “There is much richness in the details, so let’s show them off today!”

I love how black & white photography brings out the details, such as the brickwork patterns, windows, doors, and other bits and pieces.
Next week is “Picture More” week, and we focus on Isolating the Subject. It should be interesting! Stay tuned!
Thank you for visiting. Continue to stay safe and stay well!
Connie 🙂
What an excellent B&Wweek Connie, I especially loved the barn and the building, great textures and details.

Wonderful photos, Connie! I think the bee hive represents plenty very, very well! I also love the barn and the roadside photos. The roadside photo somehow makes me think of growing up in a time such as To Kill A Mockingbird. 🙂

Thank you – the roadside is typical here. It is what I most love about this area after living in a city for many years. Thanks for visiting! 🙂
