I am participating in a 52 Week Project with Carolyn (@sixteenmilesout). The project is simple: a list of prompts is provided for the entire year, leaving me with a week to take a photo for each prompt.
As I write this post, I am having deja vu; I feel that I have already published this update, however, I have lost track and cannot find it in my posts history for this challenge nor can I find the photos, so excuse me if you have seen some of these photos before, as I also use this blog to keep track of my various endeavours.
January 2024
Still Life – there is nothing better on a cold, snowy day than a good book & a cup of tea.
Artsy – for this photo, I used my Hipstamatic camera, the double exposure feature and a light film and lens setting. I really like this one!
Self Portrait – I really dislike ‘selfies’ so here I am, on one of the coldest days in January, reflected in the window of a local restaurant.
In my Kitchen – it is still dark in the mornings, I like how the under-cabinet lights brighten the kitchen just enough…
Architecture – This beautiful Victorian Beach House is in Wellington (Population – 2000), and was once a rather elegant cottage.
February 2024
Reflection – a gorgeous sunny day after so many cold, dark & dreary days. That blue sky over East Lake was spectacular!
Bokeh – another day spent lakeside! I was thoroughly enjoying the sun sparkling like diamonds on the lake; a perfect opportunity for some great bokeh!
Morning light – How exciting, the sunrise is getting earlier; I love the sunlight through the beveled glass in my front door.
Nature – After listening to the howling wind all night long, the sun came out and accentuated the beautiful drifts left behind.
March 2024
Texture – I love the rough bark on this tree, and the soft puff of snow on the branch.
Light & Shadow – we stopped for a break on a long drive through a snowstorm. However, the sun came out while we enjoyed our coffee and stayed for the rest of the trip home, so of course, I snapped a quick photo before continuing our journey.
Soft & Hard – I love old barns and sheds and there are fewer all the time. For this prompt I processed the photo with two different results, then created a split image. (full photos below)
Silhouette – Here I go, whining about the weather…again…but it has been raining for days. Today the sun broke through and I love it! I also love this silhouette of the spring trees around the town cenotaph.
Stay tuned for the next quarter!
Thank you for visiting!
